The Women's Resource Center offers a variety of support groups and workshops that provide a safe place for women to discover and reclaim their true selves.

  • Most of our groups are available to both the campus and off-campus communities
  • All of our groups welcome all people who identify as women
  • They provide a place for women to receive and offer affirmation and support
  • All groups provided on a sliding fee scale
  • Pre-group interview required for all groups

Current Offerings

Finding Your Voice: Women of Color Group

Are you a woman of color who is struggling to work in a predominantly White campus or community? As women of color who come from a variety of backgrounds (e.g., African American/Black, Latina/Hispanic, Asian American, Pacific Islander, American Indian, Middle Eastern/Arab American, and others), we have experiences that are unique to our individual backgrounds but also hold many common connections.

Hand to Hand: Women Sharing Wisdom

 

The focus of this support group is to share the richness and complexity of women's lives.

We live in a world where women's voices are often silenced.  This group offers a place for women to be truly seen and heard and their experiences honored.

Our Power Within

Come and join us to share, explore and discover more about yourself.  This group offers a safe place for all women and non-binary femmes of diverse racial, ethinic and cultural backgrounds to dialogue about their life experiences.

  1. What groups do you offer?
    We offer 3 groups that meet  from 5:30 to 7 pm. These include: Women of Color on Monday; Hand to Hand on Wednesday; Our Power Within on Thursday; 
  2. How much does it cost to participate in a group?
    There is no cost to participate in a support group at the Women's Resource Center.  Contact the group facilitator for more information.
  3. Are groups available only to U of U students, staff, and faculty?
    No. Most of our groups welcome participants from the wider community.
  4. Do your groups include men?
    No. All of our groups are for individuals who self-identify as women.
  5. How do I join a group?
    Contact the WRC at 801-581-8030 for more information or to schedule a pre-group interview.
  6. What groups are available for trans women?

All of the groups currently offered by the Women's Resource Center are available for trans and non-binary women.
