Virtual Support Groups

The Women's Resource Center offers a variety of support groups and workshops that provide a safe place for women to discover and reclaim their true selves.



  • Most of our groups are available to both the campus and off-campus communities
  • All of our groups welcome all people who identify as women and femme
  • They provide a place for women to receive and offer affirmation and support
  • All groups provided are free

Current Offerings

Finding Your Voice: Women of Color Group

Are you a woman of color who is struggling to work in a predominantly White campus or community? As women of color who come from a variety of backgrounds (e.g., African American/Black, Latina/Hispanic, Asian American, Pacific Islander, American Indian, Middle Eastern/Arab American, and others), we have experiences that are unique to our individual backgrounds but also hold many common connections.

Taking up Space

This support group focuses on building support and awareness to overcome and dismantle toxic messages aimed at and against women's bodies.

This is not a disordered eating treatment or support group.

Hand to Hand: Women Sharing Wisdom


The focus of this support group is to share the richness and complexity of women's lives.

We live in a world where women's voices are often silenced.  This group offers a place for women to be truly seen and heard and their experiences honored.

  1. What groups do you offer?
    We offer 4 groups that meet  from 5:30 to 7pm. These include: Women of Color on Monday, Body Politics on Tuesday, Hand to Hand on Wednesday, and Our Power Within on Thursday.
  2. How much does it cost to participate in a group?
    There is no cost to participate in a support group at the Women's Resource Center.  Contact the group facilitator for more information.
  3. Are groups available only to U of U students, staff, and faculty?
    No. Most of our groups welcome participants from the wider community.
  4. Do your groups include men?
    No. All of our groups are for individuals who self-identify as women.
  5. How do I join a group?
    Contact the WRC at 801-581-8030 for more information or to schedule a pre-group interview.
  6. Are groups available to trans-women?
    Yes. All of the groups currently offered by the Women's Resource Center are available to trans-women.
  7. Are the groups available remotely?
    Yes for the moment all groups are virtual on Zoom Video Conference until COVID-19 protocals change.
