Kirstin Maanum is the Women’s Education Specialist through the Women’s Enrollment Initiative at the University of Utah.  She is originally from Minnesota and received her BA in Psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Her early professional years were spent working with social justice organizations along the US/Mexico Border in El Paso, TX, Juarez, Mexico and Anthony, New Mexico.  She earned her Master of Public Health from New Mexico State University in 2009.  She moved to Salt Lake City in 2010 and prior to joining the WEI team at the U, she was working at Planned Parenthood Association of Utah on their education team. She is passionate about supporting women receive the services and support they need to improve their own lives. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family and hiking in the Wasatch Mountains and watching independent films.
